The story behind the rifle.

Back about 1979-80 I was given a Swedish Mauser Model 95 or 96 (yet to be determined) short barreled rifle. We have not determined yet if it was made as a carbine or is a cut down rifle. My thoughts are that it is a carbine due to the fact the original front military sight mount is on the barrel. Be that as it may, I had it for a year or two, did some hunting with it but at that time I had acquired another Mauser barreled action I turned into a nice rifle so I didn't really need the Swede anymore.

My friends, Dave and Tom Suitor had this ragamuffin young brother named Johnny who was, I think, 11 or 12 years old. This young fellow was rifle deficient so after some thought I gave it to Dave and told him to give it to young Johnny along with two sets of reloading dies that came with the rifle. The rest is history of a nice kind. I am told he thinks very highly of the little Swede 6.5mm which pleases me to no end. Enjoy it Johnny, its a hell of a nice little rifle.
