Frame swap problems.

Remove gas tank
- Which body mounts to buy?
78's are smaller diameter
78's are shorter in front
used 86 mounts on 4 rear, modified holes
used 86 cab support, didn't fit
used 78 mounts on front clip, had to shim
- Cab support mounts, butt is too low, raised it up
- 78' brake hoses wouldn't fit 86' calipers mount in frame
no holes in correct place
weld on 86 brackets and make new lines to fit onto hoses
- NP208 crossmember wouldn't bolt up
set engine, tranny, and transfer case to get location
drill frame for new holes
weld grade 8 washers onto frame where old holes interfere
- Fleetside filler hoses are different than stepside filler hoses
- Front clip mounts barely work, should have switched mount brackets
- Front bumper brackets won't fit
only had an 86 front bumper
mount bottom bracket holes directly on frame hole
cut top part of 86 bracket off and modify to fit top hole
manipulate side brackets to fit onto frame
- Fleetside bumpers are too wide
straightened bumper that was on 78 frame and bent badly
cut the corner off
removed another 6" leaving top diamond plate
welded corner back on from inside bumper
good enough for now and cost nothing
- Wiring harness different for stepside bed
had to splice new end on
