What the hell can you say? With a tidy $1000.00 on the line, I couldn't resist checking it out. There are a lot of hungry and cash-poor teams around and Saturday night RiverSide had its share. They weren't there begging, they were there to race!
The chatter on the message boards during the week put the #3 of Mike Kenison, the #10 of Bryan Mason, and the #28 of Dwayne Lanphere as the favorites. No outsiders showed so the feature would be decided by 16 RiverSide Speedway late model regulars.

Late Model practice proved to be a window into what could be expected in the 50 lap feature that would be run several hours later.

The #72 of Cody Hodge and the #44 of Steve Patnaude rest in a heap on the frontstretch.

The #72 was repaired, started the feature, and was pretty much destroyed in an incident involving the #4 of Paul Schartner.

The Patnaude crew made enough repairs to start and run some laps in the feature before parking it.

The first 30 laps were led by the #17 of Haywood Herriott with Jeff Marshall's #32 on his bumper. After Herriott spun in turn 3 it was Jeff's race to lose. On a lap 37 restart the top 5 were Marshall (#32), Bryan Mason (#10), Kenison (#3), Lanphere (#28) and Bob Ailes Sr. (#15). During a lap 40 caution flag the #23 of Stephen Hodgdon was black flagged for his (arguably justified) antics concerning the #28 of Dwayne Lanphere.

The final 10 laps were nightmarish. Paul Schartner's #4 wiggled coming out of turn 2, bounced off the #01 of Sammy Gooden, nailed the wall, and was hammered by the #72 of Cody Hodge, bringing out a red flag. They put Sammy to the rear for this incident. I think that was a bad call. On lap 48 Kenison took the lead as Marshall started to drop back with some kind of power problem. On lap 49 Marshall was overtaken by Lanphere and Bryan and Corey Mason. There was contact and Marshall pounded the backstretch wall bringing out the red flag and subsequently the checkered flag.

The #3 of Mike Kenison was in front of the ensuing mayhem and wins the race. However, there is some controversy about whether or not the cars involved in the Marshall wreck should be scored in the back of the pack for being part of the wreck.

As of Sunday afternoon the unofficial finish (pending review) is 1. Mike Kenison, 2. Dwayne Lanphere, 3. Bryan Mason, 4. Corey Mason, 5. Bob Ailes Sr., 6. Sammy Gooden, 7. Pat Corbett, 8. Cody LeBlanc, 9. Brett Gervais, 10. Jeff Marshall, 11. Paul Schartner, 12. Cody Hodge, 13. Stephen Hodgon, 14. Haywood Herriott, 15. Mike Paquette, 16. Steve Patnaude.
