Saturday I hooked up with my brother David and we travelled over to Rattlesnake Motordrome. I had planned on visiting sometime during the summer, and with the Sprint cars in town, I thought the time was right.

From the
RattleSnake Motordrome website: "The track originally operated in the mid 1960s as a 1/5 mile dirt oval. It is one of the oldest tracks in New England. From 1971, it has operated as 1/4 mile oval. It has operated as The Pines Speedway and as Nor-Way Pines Speedway. After an ownership transition around 2002-2003, it reopened as Legion Speedway. It became The Rattlesnake Motordrome in 2009."

With a grim weather forecast, and many families attending graduation ceremonies, the car and fan counts were low, but the excitement and enthusiasm around the track was high. This old dirt track put on a great show and the racing was tremendous!
