" CAMARO HEAVEN NIGHT OF RACING " August 8, 2009 - Rumney, NH
Saturday night my brother David and I returned to Rattlesnake Motordrome and for the first time this racing season, I wasn't watching the storm clouds and wondering if and when the rain would come.
The car counts were low (ten or under) in RattleSnake's three primary divisions, but there were more cars then when we last visited in June. I hope the car counts continue to increase, but selfishly speaking, I like the show to move along fast and with single heat races, it does just that.
| Activity in the pits told a different story. With an Enduro event being held tonight, cars were everywhere. At 5:30 there had been 24 cars registered and that number swelled to 39 by the start of the race. More about that later.
| Every week everyone gathers at the water truck for the driver/team meeting.
| "United we Stand." Track manager, Jason MacAlister, had an honest discussion with his teams about racing and thanked them for coming and supporting RattleSnake. The racers offered some very good ideas about the track and event promotions which Jason welcomed.
| The track has its critics, but I saw a better show tonight than I did in June. With Ray Heath cracking the whip in the pits, and the track management listening, things can only get better.
