~ Race Observations ~

Tonight I returned again to WMMP as a racing fan, not a photographer, and I'm sure glad I did!
I think "hellacious" is a good word for the heat at the track this afternoon. When I pulled into the parking lot, around 5:00 PM, my car's thermometer said 83, and I was in the shade.

The racing was good. Nick Pilotte won again and Brock Davis had a great night and was the guy to beat, after winning his heat race and the semi-feature.

Brock quickly took the lead in the feature and dominated until a lap 40 caution. On the restart Oren Remick's #21 was on the outside and was willing and able. Oren and Brock raced side-by-side for a couple of laps and then Oren took the lead and drove on to take the checkered flag.

"This win is dedicated to my daughter Molly."

Steve Denio, Chris Bixby and Oren Remick.
Passumpsic, VT resident, Steve Denio, decided he wanted to go racing in 2009. He purchased a 'project car' and is spending his Saturday nights racing in the mini-stock division at WMMP. Steve is a one-man show, arriving at the track alone with his faithful pickup and race car in tow. When needed the #21 late model team supplies a helping hand. It doesn't get anymore grassroots than this! Steve finished 6th tonight in his feature event.
