Aaron's Repair - Whitefield, NH - June 14, 2010

Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug. Last Saturday night 15 year old Ben Belanger and his RiverSide Speedway street stock were the bug.

Benny and his cavalier were cruising. He had won his heat race and was leading the feature at the 20 lap mark. While lapping a car, another car came up from a run through the infield, hit the car Ben was passing and knocked him violently into the turn #4 wall. Because of the excellent safety equipment in the car Ben survived the impact a little sore but the car was history.

Before the #99 was unloaded there was a new cavalier in the shop being stripped. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that things needed to happen, and happen fast. After all, they only had 6 days to get a new car race-ready for next week.
The racing patriarch of the Belanger family is Ben's grandfather Ray. He is the catalyst that drives the team. He built cars for his son Marc to race and taught his other son Aaron how to make them go fast and turn left. This stuff is in their blood.

Another racing talent, and genuine nice guy that the team has on their side is RiverSide Track Champion Luke Shannon. Luke was there early Sunday morning to help "undo" and "refit" things.
And I don't know about you, but this looks like Lee Lambert is having way too much fun with that saws-all!

Off with the roof and out with the roll-gage.

Ana and Amber delivered a spare radiator from Suitor's Garage to help the cause. To understand the look on Amber's face you would have to know how much she loves her cavalier that took a tumble a couple of months ago.
