Riverside has their Daredevil Youth Racers and WMMP has their Kid's Truck division. The only problem is you have to wait until the ripe old age of 10 (Riverside) and 13 (WMMP) to get started in these production 4 cylinder automobiles.
A couple of hours down the road you can get your young hot-shoe in a Sugar Hill Speedway Tiger Sprint at 7 and at 12 the racer can move to the faster Outlaw division.

Sugar Hill Speedway Ride with the future stars of the racing world.
Sugar Hill Speedway is the premier kart racing facility in the northeast. This incredible complex, tucked away in Weare, NH, is done right!! The track hold weekly races as well as corporate events and if you haven't been to Sugar Hill lately, stop in some Sunday and you'll be impressed.
The 1/5 mile paved oval hosts many young racers that are learning their craft as well as an adult class for more traditional karts. New England's best make Sugar Hill a regular stop on the circuit.
Bobby Baillargon (ACT late model), Adam Bates (Late model), and Sean Caisse (Busch East Series) are some of the racers who got there start at Sugar Hill.
| The racing karts that run at Sugar Hill are not "your grandfather's go carts". These karts are powered by methanol burning, single cylinder, 4-stroke, Briggs and Stratton, racing engines making serious horsepower. The karts are set up with slick tires and an aerodynamic body for racing on an asphalt oval where they reach speeds in the 50-60 mph range. For safety, these karts have a full roll cage, an aluminum racing seat, and a 5-point racing harness.
| Come out to Sugar Hill Speedway some Sunday and watch these future stars in action. You can also catch them at Rt. 106 Speedway on Friday nights. |

Here Come the Burant Sisters Move over Danica, here come the Burant sisters.
The top female race car driver, Danica Patrick, may have to share her spotlight some day with Cassandra and Brittney Burant. The Burant girls are learning their craft by racing karts at the Sugar Hill Speedway, in Weare, NH.
| Every Sunday morning mild mannered Paul Burant of Bedford puts on his "racing hat" and besides being Dad, becomes car owner, team organizer, chief mechanic. With the help of Cassandra and Brittney, Paul completes the maintenance on a pair of karts, loads them onto the hauler, and heads off to the speedway. Taking up their usual spot in the far corner of the pits, the karts are fueled, tire pressures are set, and the kart is checked one last time in preparation for practice, qualifying heats, and the feature races. | Brittney at 16 is the elder of the Burant duo and has been racing karts for 5 years. A straight A student and cross country runner at Bedford High School, she started racing in the Tiger Sprint division when she was 11. Brittney won the Jr. Champ division this year and has plans to move into stock cars next year at Lee Speedway. Anyone that would like to sponsor an up and coming young racer, here is your chance. | |
Cassandra who is 13 and races in the Jr. Outlaw A division, also started in the Tiger Sprints when she was 11. Next year she moves up to the Jr. Champ division. Dad says that Cassandra seems to be more interested in a racing career at this point.
The Burant's karts both carry the number 37 and are powered by menthol burning Briggs and Stratton 4-stroke engines. The karts are set up slick and aerodynamic

Z Team Have you ever heard of the Z Team? If you're a race fan and you haven't, you will soon.
Young Brad Zahensky wants to race NASCAR someday, and in preparation he is learning his craft racing karts at the Sugar Hill Speedway, in Weare, NH. Brad, at 11 years old, already has three years experience on paved oval tracks and after running second in the Tiger Sprint A division, next year he'll move up in class to the Jr Outlaw division for 12-15 year olds. Brad is a smooth and smart racer, he has good equipment and sponsors, and an excellent coach in his Dad. Look out NASCAR; here comes Brad Zahensky and the Z Team.

When not racing, Brad attends the 5th grade at the Bow Memorial School where he is an all around athlete playing soccer, basketball, and baseball. Off-season, racing season that is, Brad, his Mom and Dad, his two sisters, and brother spend time on their snowmobiles.
Brad is a second generation racer. His Dad Paul raced dirt cars in Orange County Speedway in New York for many years. Dad now turns the wrenches as well as serving as crew chief, transporter driver, marketing, and instructor.
Brad's #7 racing kart is powered by a menthol burning, single cylinder, 4-stroke, Briggs and Stratton Raptor, racing engine making about 18 horsepower. The kart is set up with slick tires and an aerodynamic body for racing on an asphalt oval where it can reach speeds in the 50-60 mph range. For safety, these karts have a full roll cage, an aluminum racing seat, and a 5-point racing harness.
